SCIC Meets the Delegation of China International Capital Corporation Limited (CICC) and Discusses Cooperation Opportunities

On the morning of September 14, 2023, at SCIC’s headquarters, SCIC Deputy General Director welcomed and met with the CICC Group delegation led by Ms. Ziyin Yang - Senior Director - Deputy Director of Southeast Asia Region.
Attending the meeting on behalf of SCIC were Mr. Le Thanh Tuan - Deputy General Director of SCIC and representatives of SCIC Functional Departments.
During the meeting, Mr. Le Thanh Tuan - Deputy General Director of SCIC introduced the corporation and shared some information about SCIC's recent business performance. Ms. Ziyin Yang - Senior Director of CICC, likewise revealed on her side the outstanding business results of the Chinese counterpart since the last bilateral meeting in December 2022 and expressed an interest to expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest and strengths.
Established in 1999, CICC has accumulated more than 24 years of experience in the field of corporate governance and equitization of state-owned enterprises (SOEs). Therefore, Ms. Ziyin Yang - Senior Director of CICC is hoping that the two partners will increase information exchange, promote cooperation opportunities, and share understanding on international and investment conferences and areas of mutual interest such as infrastructure and seaports; to consider the possibility of establishing a joint investment fund between the two, etc.
On behalf of SCIC, Mr. Le Thanh Tuan - Deputy General Director of SCIC strongly expressed his appreciation for his counterpart's valuable information about CICC's business results in recent times, as well as the desire to cooperate in the future. In addition, representatives of SCIC's Board of Directors also affirmed their readiness to initiate cooperation opportunities between Chinese investors and SCIC through purchasing shares from SCIC's divestment portfolio, investing capital in a number of large projects in Vietnam's infrastructure sector and exploring the possibility of establishing a Joint Investment Fund to explore and take advantage of potential investment cooperation opportunities in the future.
