SCIC Delegation Accompanies Senior Leaders on Working Visits to Three ASEAN Countries

From May 27 to June 1, 2026, SCIC delegation led by Mr. Nguyen Chi Thanh, Chairman of the Board of Members, accompanied General Secretary and President Tô Lâm on an official visit to Thailand and state visits to Singapore and the Philippines. The SCIC delegation participated in activities within the framework of the high-level visits, aiming to strengthen investment cooperation with strategic partners in the region, while gaining international experience to support SCIC's transformation into a National Investment Fund under the direction of the Party and State.

In Thailand, the delegation worked with ThaiBev Group to discuss governance coordination at Sabeco and Vinamilk, and to explore potential new investment projects. Subsequently in Singapore, the SCIC delegation participated in a working session between the leadership of the Corporate Finance Department under the Ministry of Finance and the leadership of Temasek. During the meeting, Temasek representatives shared core lessons learned from their over 50- years of development. Temasek is one of SCIC's key international partners. SCIC established and has maintained a partnership with Temasek since its early years of operation. Both sides closely maintain this partnership through delegation exchanges and sharing investment cooperation opportunities. Within the framework of activities in the Philippines, the SCIC delegation held a working session with Maharlika Investment Corporation (MIC), the entity responsible for managing and operating the Maharlika Investment Fund (MIF) — the first and only sovereign wealth fund of the Philippines to date. At the meeting, SCIC and MIC shared experiences and exchanged views on economic and investment cooperation opportunities, contributing to the further development of bilateral relations between the Philippines and Vietnam. As a key economic partner of the Philippines in Southeast Asia, Vietnam continues to affirm its stable business environment and potential in strategic industries.

In addition to bilateral activities, the delegation also participated in a series of three business forums held in conjunction with the Senior Leaders' visits, including: the Thailand – Vietnam Business Forum, the Vietnam – Singapore Technology Connection Forum, and the Vietnam – Philippines Business Forum.
